- Board: your class 10 must be from a board recognised by the state or central government. Open schooling boards are generally accepted, but confirm in the notice.
- Marks: most posts only need a pass. Some, like Agniveer GD, ask for a minimum aggregate and a minimum in each subject.

Girls and women with matric have real options, and several of them come with fee relief.
- GDS: women were exempt from the application fee in recent notices and selection is on marks only, so there is no physical test.
- SSC MTS: an office job with no physical test for MTS posts, and SSC usually waives the fee for women.
- SSC GD: separate vacancies for women in the armed police forces, with their own physical standards.
- State police: many states keep a share of constable posts for women.
- Anganwadi worker and helper: filled locally under the state's child development department. The qualification differs by state, often class 10 or 12, so check the district notice.
How to choose the right 10th pass job for you
Do not fill every form you see. Each form costs money and time. Ask yourself three questions.
- Are your class 10 marks high? If you scored well, GDS is your strongest chance because there is no exam. A low score makes GDS hard in most divisions.
- Are you fit and ready to run? SSC GD, Agniveer, railway Level 1 and constable posts all have physical tests. Start running practice months before the written exam.
- Do you prefer desk work? SSC MTS suits you. Basic maths, reasoning and general awareness matter most.

How selection usually works
Most 10th level recruitments follow one of three patterns.
- Merit only: GDS. Your class 10 percentage decides the list, then documents are checked.
- Written test only: SSC MTS (except Havaldar). A computer based test of reasoning, maths, English and general awareness, then document verification.
- Written test plus physical: SSC GD, railway Level 1, Agniveer, police and forest guard. You clear the exam first, then the running and measurement tests, then medical.

Documents to keep ready after class 10
- Class 10 marksheet and pass certificate (your date of birth proof in most forms)
- Caste certificate in the central format for central jobs and the state format for state jobs
- EWS certificate for the current year, if you use that category
- Domicile or residence certificate for state posts
- Aadhaar card, recent photos with name and date, and a scanned signature
- NCC or sports certificates, if the notice gives bonus marks
