A good defence job alert does more than say "form out". It tells you which door you are knocking on: Agniveer in the Army, Navy or Air Force, officer entry through NDA or CDS, constable in a central armed police force through SSC GD, or a civilian post in a defence unit.
This page lays out each route, who conducts it, the usual stages and the official websites, so a fake message on your phone does not fool you. Below that you will find a running list of Army and SSC GD notices from our posts.

Defence job alert: the four main routes
Defence and security jobs fall into four groups, and each has a different recruiter:
- Agniveer: soldier level entry in the three services for a fixed term of four years under the Agnipath scheme.
- Officer entry: NDA for 12th pass students and CDS for graduates, both through UPSC, followed by the SSB interview.
- Central armed police forces (CAPFs): BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB, plus Assam Rifles. Constable GD posts come through the SSC GD exam; other posts like head constable ministerial are notified by the forces.
- Civilian defence posts: tradesman mate, fireman, MTS, clerk, chargeman and similar posts in Army units, depots and defence establishments.
The Indian Army in Hindi is "Bharatiya Thal Sena" (भारतीय थल सेना). People often ask "army kitne prakar ki hoti hai". In simple terms, India has three armed services (Army, Navy, Air Force) under the Ministry of Defence, while CAPFs work under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Army Day is marked on 15 January, the day General K. M. Cariappa took over as the first Indian Commander in Chief of the Army.

The Air Force has used different registration portals over the years, so open it only through the link in the official notice. Many fake pages copy these designs; a real defence site never asks for money through a personal account.
NDA and CDS through UPSC
NDA (National Defence Academy and Naval Academy exam) is for unmarried candidates who have passed or are in 12th. The Army wing accepts any stream; the Air Force and Navy wings need Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12. UPSC holds a written exam in Mathematics and a General Ability Test. Those who qualify go to a five day Services Selection Board (SSB) interview and then a medical. The nda sarkari result you see first is the written result: a PDF of roll numbers. The final merit list comes after SSB.
CDS (Combined Defence Services) is for graduates and leads to IMA, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. Its selection likewise moves from a written paper to SSB and then a medical board. The cds sarkari result is likewise declared in stages on the UPSC website. UPSC usually holds both exams twice a year; see the commission's calendar. For notes on reading exam patterns, see our syllabus page.
SSC GD for central armed police forces
The SSC GD constable exam fills constable (general duty) posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP and SSB, rifleman posts in Assam Rifles, and some other forces named in the notice. The usual minimum is 10th pass. Stages are a computer based exam, then PET and PST, then a detailed medical and document verification. Merit comes from the computer exam, and the physical stages are qualifying.
The ssc gd sarkari result comes out in parts: the list of candidates called for PET and PST, then the final result with force wise allocation. Cut-off marks are given state wise and category wise. The bsf sarkari result for SSC GD is part of this same list; BSF's own notices are only for its other posts. When SSC lets candidates choose their exam slot or city, it puts the window and rules in a notice on ssc.gov.in, so ssc gd slot booking sarkari result searches should lead you there.
Keep the same height and chest figures in mind that you entered in the form. A false claim of a hill area or tribal height relaxation is caught at PST and ends your candidature.
SSB HCM and other force notices
SSB HCM means head constable (ministerial), an office job in Sashastra Seema Bal that needs 12th pass and a typing speed test. The force publishes it on ssbrectt.gov.in, and the ssb hcm sarkari result, skill test lists and final selection appear there. Other forces also run their own drives for head constable ministerial, tradesman, driver and technical posts, so watch both SSC and the force websites.
If you have an ITI certificate, technical and tradesman posts in these forces may suit you; our ITI jobs page explains those routes.
Civilian posts: tradesman, MTS and chargeman
Defence also needs civilians. Army Ordnance Corps depots, EME workshops, command headquarters and many units publish Group C notices for tradesman mate, fireman, cook, washerman, MTS, lower division clerk and storekeeper. Chargeman posts, which need a diploma or a science degree, are filled by some defence establishments and defence public sector units. These notices often have a short window and are announced through the unit or command, so a careful defence job alert habit is to check the live list here and the Ministry of Defence site.
Some units still take forms by post. Then fill the form annexed to that advertisement, add your signed photocopies, mark the post applied for on top of the cover, and use speed post with plenty of days in hand. A clean biodata helps; make one in our resume maker.
