Both sit under the domain used by every department of the Uttarakhand govt.

The medical board (UKMSSB) recruits nursing officers, medical officers and similar health staff through its own website, which is printed on each of its notices.
UKSSSC: what it recruits for and how
UKSSSC full form is Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission. It is the main body for Group C hiring in state departments. Most UKSSSC recruitment follows this order: online form, a written objective exam (often computer based), a skill or physical test where the post needs one, then document verification and a final merit list.
- Intermediate level posts: junior assistant, data entry and similar, often with a typing test.
- Graduate level posts: VDO (gram vikas adhikari), assistant review officers and other posts that need a degree.
- Uniformed posts: police constable, PAC, fireman and forest guard, with physical standards and a running or walking test.
- Revenue posts: patwari and lekhpal, who keep land records in hill and plain areas.

UKPSC: PCS, lecturer and forest guard exams
The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission works from Haridwar. Its best known exam is Uttarakhand PCS: prelims with objective questions, mains with written answers, and finally an interview. UKPSC lecturer recruitment fills posts of pravakta (lecturer) in government inter colleges subject wise, through a screening exam and a main exam.
For some years the state also handed several Group C exams, including UKPSC forest guard and patwari, to UKPSC instead of UKSSSC. That is why both names appear in searches for the same post. Always look at whose name is printed on the advertisement you are applying to, and follow that commission's site for the admit card and UKPSC result.
Police, nursing and teacher jobs in the state
Police: constable recruitment is done through UKSSSC with a written exam and a physical measurement and efficiency test, followed by medical and document checks. The order of stages is in the notice. For general preparation see our police jobs guide.
Nursing and health: UKMSSB recruits nursing officers and other health posts. Community health officer jobs of the National Health Mission are advertised separately by the state health mission.
Teachers: UTET, held by the Uttarakhand Board, decides eligibility for primary and upper primary teaching. Domicile, reservation and employment office registration
Caste quotas (SC, ST, OBC) and the EWS quota in Uttarakhand government jobs go to candidates domiciled in Uttarakhand and holding certificates from Uttarakhand authorities. The state also gives horizontal reservation to women who are domiciled in Uttarakhand. Candidates from other states may apply where the notice allows, but in the general category.

Rojgar Prayag and outsourced jobs
The Rojgar Prayag portal is run by the state employment department to hire outsourced staff for government departments through the national procurement system. These jobs are not permanent government posts and are not recruited by UKSSSC or UKPSC. If someone sells you a permanent job through this portal, it is a fraud.
