A good punjab job alert should tell you two things at once: that a new form is out, and which official body is behind it. This page does the second part properly. It explains what the Subordinate Service Selection Board, the Public Service Commission and Punjab Police each recruit for, where their real websites are, and which rules apply only in Punjab, like the Punjabi language condition.
The first part, the news, is handled further down by an auto updating feed that pulls the newest Punjab notices from this site. This is an independent website with no link to the Punjab government, so check every detail in the official advertisement.

Punjab job alert: who recruits for what
Most state jobs in Punjab come from four sources. Put the right one in your bookmarks and you will not need to depend on forwarded screenshots.
| Recruiter | Posts usually handled | Site |
|---|---|---|
| PSSSB (Subordinate Service Selection Board) | Clerk, clerk cum data entry operator, steno typist, patwari, junior engineer, excise and taxation inspector, Group D posts like sevadar and chowkidar, and many department wise Group B and C posts | sssb.punjab.gov.in |
| PPSC (Punjab Public Service Commission), Patiala | PCS (executive branch) and allied services, naib tehsildar, assistant professor, medical and engineering officer posts and similar gazetted jobs | ppsc.gov.in |
| Punjab Police recruitment cell | Constable in district and armed cadres, sub inspector and some specialist cadres | punjabpolice.gov.in |
| PSEB (school education board), Mohali | PSTET, the eligibility test for teachers; the hiring itself is done by the school education department through its own notices | pstet.pseb.ac.in |
Power corporations, state transport bodies (for driver and bus conductor jobs), universities and the High Court also run their own recruitments. National exams that Punjab candidates often take are listed on the sarkari naukri page and the defence jobs page.
Latest Punjab notices on this site
Below are the newest Punjab entries on this site: fresh bharti, call letters, keys and each sarkari result Punjab aspirants are tracking. Treat it as a free job alert Punjab readers can check any time.
No Punjab notice is listed right now. New notices appear here as soon as they are posted. Meanwhile, see the latest updates.
Every entry links onward; the actual form must be filled on the recruiter's portal.
PSSSB: the board for most Group C jobs
PSSSB advertises posts on behalf of many departments. Its notices are numbered advertisements with a separate page for each, where you find the full notice, the apply online link, corrigenda, answer keys and results. A typical PSSSB process is a written objective exam, sometimes followed by a typing or skill test for clerical posts, and then counselling or document scrutiny.
For clerical and DEO jobs the board often tests Punjabi and English typing speed, so practise both before the skill test. Posts in the excise department (the abkari vibhag that many people search for) are also usually filled through PSSSB advertisements.
PPSC exams and their stages
The Punjab Public Service Commission sits in Patiala. Its biggest exam is the PCS combined competitive exam, which moves from a screening prelims to descriptive mains and finally an interview. Specialist posts are often decided by one subject paper followed by an interview. Everything from the advertisement to the final merit list is posted on ppsc.gov.in, and you apply through the online link on each advertisement.
After a paper, a tentative key normally goes up with a brief period to challenge answers. Once experts settle the key, PPSC declares who moves to the next round. The general method for objections is on our answer key page.
Punjab Police and teacher recruitment
Punjab Police runs its own recruitment portal. For constables, the usual order is a computer based test, then physical screening and measurement tests, then document checks and medical. Sub inspector posts follow a similar path with a harder paper. Height, chest and running standards are set in the notice and differ for men and women. For how other forces compare, read the police bharti guide.
For government school teaching you first need PSTET, conducted by the Punjab School Education Board, or CTET where the notice accepts it. Recruitment for ETT, master cadre and lecturer posts then comes from the school education department's own advertisements. National teacher tests are explained on our CTET page.
Punjabi language, domicile and reservation
The one rule that surprises outside candidates: most Punjab state posts require that you passed Punjabi as a subject at matric level, or an equivalent Punjabi test named in the rules. Check this before paying the fee, because it is applied at document verification and cannot be fixed later.
Reservation for SC, BC, EWS, ex servicemen, sportspersons and other categories is meant for Punjab residents holding Punjab issued certificates, and outside candidates usually compete in the general category. Age limits and relaxations change by post. Our main job guide has an age tool that shows whether you fall inside the band on the notice date.
Applying without mistakes
- Open the advertisement on the PSSSB, PPSC or Punjab Police site and download the full notice.
- Check qualification, Punjabi requirement, age and category conditions line by line.
- Register on the online form linked from that advertisement, on a mobile and email ID registered to you.
- Type details exactly as in your matric certificate and degree, then attach photo and signature at the pixel and file size the notice gives.
- Pay the fee online and keep the receipt and the filled form as PDF.
Rejections often come from a category certificate in a different format than the notice asks for, a Punjab residence claim without a valid certificate, missing Punjabi at matric, or a qualification result that came after the cut off date. Keep marksheets, residence, caste or BC certificate, EWS proof, ex serviceman papers if any, and recent photos together. For verification day, a one page biodata made with the resume maker keeps details consistent.
New and upcoming govt jobs in Punjab
There is no single calendar for all Punjab recruiters. PSSSB and PPSC sometimes list planned exams in public notices, and departments get approval for posts before the board advertises them. The safest way to catch new government jobs in Punjab is to check the advertisement pages of the three main bodies once a week and glance at the live list here. A punjab govt job alert that does not name an advertisement number, or asks for payment outside the official portal, is not trustworthy. Central and state openings side by side are on the nationwide alerts page, useful when you want a sarkari job in Punjab or outside it.
