Jharkhand sarkari naukri mostly runs through two commissions in Ranchi: the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) for Group C jobs and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) for officer posts. A few other bodies fill health, police and school posts.
This guide covers what each of them recruits for, the JSSC exam families from matric level to graduate level, the regional and tribal language paper that surprises many applicants, local resident rules and a clean way to apply. Fresh Jharkhand updates from this site show up in a running list lower down. We are an independent information site, so please match every detail with the commission's own notice.

JSSC exam families: matric, inter and graduate level
JSSC names its exams by the qualification needed, and most names end in CCE (combined competitive examination). The usual families are:
- Matric level: posts that need 10th pass, such as some field and office support posts.
- Inter level (JSSC inter): Jharkhand Intermediate Level Combined Competitive Examination, for 12th pass posts like health worker, lab assistants and junior clerks.
- Graduate level (Jharkhand combined graduate level, CGL): assistant section officer in the secretariat, block supply officer, planning assistant and similar. Many people search for Jharkhand sachivalaya sarkari result when they mean this exam.
- Diploma level and technical exams: junior engineers and industrial training officers.
- Constable exams: police, excise and jail constables.
- Teacher exams: assistant teacher recruitment for government schools, which asks for a passed TET.
Some JSSC exams begin with a preliminary screening paper, while others go straight to a main exam of several papers; document verification follows, as per the notice. Negative marking is common, so read the marking scheme. Exam patterns in general are discussed on the syllabus page.
The regional and tribal language paper
This is what makes Jharkhand different. Many JSSC main exams include a compulsory paper in one language that you choose from a list of regional and tribal languages of the state, along with a separate qualifying paper on Hindi and English. Marks in the regional language paper often count towards merit, so it can decide your rank.
Languages such as Santhali, Mundari, Ho, Kurukh, Khortha, Nagpuri and Bangla have appeared in such lists, but the exact list depends on the notice and the district quota, so pick your language only after reading it. Start practising this paper early. It is the one part coaching notes from other states never cover.
JPSC civil services and other commission exams
JPSC conducts the Jharkhand combined civil services exam, which has three rounds: objective prelims, descriptive mains, then a personal interview. Separate advertisements cover medical officers, engineers, professors and other specialists. Results, interview lists and final selections are uploaded as PDFs on jpsc.gov.in.
A limited competitive exam (simit pratiyogita pariksha) is open only to people already serving in certain state departments and is meant for promotion style selection. Fresh candidates cannot apply to it, so do not pay for such a form unless the notice clearly includes you.
Police, health and teaching posts in Jharkhand
Police: JSSC conducts constable recruitment for the police, excise and jail departments. The stages (written exam, physical efficiency test, physical measurement and medical) and their order are set in each notice, and the standards differ for men, women and some categories. For a broader view see our police recruitment guide.
Health: NHM posts like community health officer and ANM are mostly contract jobs advertised by JRHMS. A Jharkhand ANM result or CHO list usually appears on the JRHMS site as a PDF merit list, followed by district counselling.
Teaching: JTET is the eligibility test held by the Jharkhand Academic Council, and JSSC then recruits assistant teachers from TET passed candidates. More on teacher eligibility is on the CTET guide.
Central jobs posted in Jharkhand are different
Many searches mix state jobs with central ones. Vacancies at SBI or FCI, SAIL plants, the post office or the railways in Jharkhand are filled by central recruiters with all India rules, not by JSSC or JPSC. Their state circle only decides where you will be posted. Read about those routes on our railway jobs and post office jobs pages.
Local resident rules and reservation
A citizen of any state may apply to most Jharkhand posts if the qualification matches. Quotas for ST, SC, BC (two groups), EWS and women, however, are meant for local residents of Jharkhand with certificates from the state. The rules on local residence have been debated and changed over time, so read the eligibility clause of the exact notice you are applying to. Candidates from other states usually compete in the open category.
Get your caste, residential and income certificates made through the state's online service centres well before the last date. Our age calculator works out your exact age for any cut off date a notice gives.

Applying for JSSC and JPSC forms
- Open jssc.jharkhand.gov.in or jpsc.gov.in directly and find the advertisement number for your post.
- Read the post table, the language paper list and the local resident clause.
- Register on the application portal linked from that notice and note the registration number.
- Enter marks and passing years from your mark sheets, and select the regional language you are actually prepared for.
- Upload a clear photo and signature. Then make the payment and wait until the status shows paid.
- Save the confirmation page and fee receipt for document verification.
Jharkhand forms commonly fail for these reasons: choosing the wrong district quota, a caste certificate from another state, choosing a language paper by mistake, and missing the deadline because the server was slow on the last day.

Which commission conducts the Jharkhand combined graduate level exam?
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission conducts it. It fills secretariat assistant and other graduate level Group C posts. Notices, admit cards and results appear on jssc.jharkhand.gov.in.
What is the JSSC inter level exam?
It is the Jharkhand Intermediate Level Combined Competitive Examination for posts that need 12th pass. Check the post list in each notice, since some posts need a science or maths stream.
Can someone from Bihar or another state apply for Jharkhand jobs?
Mostly yes, unless the advertisement keeps the posts for local residents, but they cannot claim Jharkhand reservation. They also need to clear the regional language paper where the exam has one.
Where can I see the Jharkhand rojgar result for JSSC exams?
JSSC uploads results as PDFs on its website, usually roll number wise with category, and then announces document verification. New result posts on this site also appear in the Jharkhand list above with a link to the source.

JSSC uses registration on its application portal for each advertisement, and the steps are written in the notice. Note down the registration number and password, because admit card and result logins need them.
